Trenbolone is steroid purposely developed for
veterinary use. This compound is used on livestock to promote muscle
growth and increase appetite. To address the problem with its very
short life, it has been refined by adding esters to the compound.
Trenbolone is commonly administered through three esters – acetate,
enanthate and cyclohexylmethylcarbonate. Popular brand names of
trenbolone acetate are Finaplix Gold and TREMBLONA QV75. Parabolan is a
brand of trenbolone cyclohexylmethylcarbonate, manufactured by the
France-based Negma. Its production has been discontinued in 1997.
Trenbolone enanthate is the most recently developed version
of the trenbolone compound, becoming available to bodybuilders in
mid-2004. This trenbolone ester is exclusively supplied by UG
(underground) labs. Enterprising individuals have thought of providing
alternative for the fast-acting trenbolone acetate and the discontinued
Parabolan.
Structurally, trenbolone is a derivative of nandrolone, which
makes it a 19-norsteroid. Two alterations, however, make this compound
unique from its parent compound. The modifications at the c9 and c11
double bonds make it resistant to adverse metabolism, such as the
effects of both the aromatase and 5alpha-reductase enzymes. This also
reportedly increases its affinity to androgen receptors.
Undoubtedly, trenbolone has a strong binding affinity with
androgen receptors; reportedly, three times as high as that of
testosterone. As such, it is noted that its potency pretty much stays
the same when entering various androgen target tissues. Because of this
strong androgenic potency, trenbolone users can be susceptible to side
effects like acne and hirsutism.
Trenbolone works by increasing nitrogen uptake by muscles,
which leads to a corresponding increase in the rate of protein
synthesis. Aside from being an anabolic agent, trenbolone is also an
anti-catabolic drug. Trenbolone is also an effective fat-burner and an
appetite stimulant.
As mentioned above, unlike its base compound trenbolone does
not undergo reduction by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme; thus, trenbolone
is ideal to use by those who are highly sensitive to estrogenic side
effects. Because of this characteristic, trenbolone is oftentimes used
by athletes who want to get rid of fat. Users who are after muscle mass
will be disappointed with trenbolone. This compound is only capable of
delivering lean tissue growth, especially if not stacked with a steroid
with estrogenic activity.
It is possible trenbolone can suppress endogenous
testosterone production. This is because that although trenbolone lacks
estrogenic activity, this drug exhibits progestational activity. As
such, it can cause side effects which are similarly observed with
estrogen activity like negative feedback inhibition of testosterone
production.
Short-term side effects with this drug include insomnia,
decreased sexual drive, night sweats, and high blood pressure.
Trenbolone’s exerting extreme damage to the kidney is yet to be
substantiated by research.
Trenbolone acetate is injected at least once every two days
because of its short half-life. With trenbolone enanthate, a once a
week injection is enough to maintain an ideal hormone level. A novice
is advised to take 50mg per day of trenbolone while an advanced user
can administer 100mg per day. These dosages are recommended for those
who are not stacking trenbolone with another Class I steroid; that is,
another steroid that promotes muscle growth via the androgen receptors.
If trenbolone is stacked with another Class I steroid, the dosage
amounts can be reduced. Females are advised against using trenbolone
since the androgenic side effects are a big possibility with this
steroid.
