Former Chelsea striker banned for nine months

Adrian Mutu, the Fiorentina and former Chelsea striker, has been banned for a period of nine months after he failed to clear an anti-doping test in January.

Confirmation of the ban was made by Romania international’s club after the case was heard by the Italian anti-doping tribunal.

From Guardian.co.uk:

“Nine-month ban for Adrian Mutu – this is the decision taken by the anti-doping tribunal regarding the positive test for the substance sibutramine by the Viola player. The ban will end on 29 October 2010,” said a statement on the Fiorentina website.

“The Viola player had been suspended since 29 January after the positive tests following the game against Bari on 10 January and Lazio on 20 January in the Italian Cup.”

This is the second lengthy drugs ban for Mutu, whose Chelsea career ended in 2004 when he was sacked for cocaine use and banned for seven months.

Mutu had told prosecutors that the traces of sibutramine found in his tests were the result of slimming tablets given to him for his mother.

Today, the 31-year-old reacted angrily to the ruling. “I feel this is a harsh punishment,” he said. “It seems too much. I expected less because, yes, the mistake was made, it’s right to pay, but not so much.

The ban on Mutu will run till October as he has already spent two months on the sidelines.

Nolvadex – Trustworthy antiestrogen for steroid cycles

If you have been recently made aware of the benefits of anabolic steroids and want to give them a try but worry about excess estrogen formation, Nolvadex is one antiestrogen that you need to buy along with your preferred anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs.

In the world of professional sports where one bad performance can kill the good work of years, there is nothing better than legal steroids and Nolvadex to boost on-field performance without fail. This is the reason why more and more sportsmen are considering Nolvadex, also known as Tamoxifen Citrate, as an integral part of steroid cycles.

It is worth noting here that the use of 17-alkalyte steroids and testosterone derivatives can lead to formation of excess estrogens leading to gynecomastia and fluid retention. It is for this reason that Nolvadex use is recommended during or at the end of a steroid cycle so that benefits of steroids can be optimized and retained for long without coming in proximity to estrogen side effects.

Since Nolvadex inhibits the production of bad estrogens and not the good ones, it helps its users in more than just a way. When used in doses of 20-40 mg per day, Nolvadex promotes balanced growth and development of muscle and body organs besides restricting excess estrogen formation. This antiestrogen can be an ideal estrogen inhibitor for bulking as well as cutting cycles.

Before you buy Nolvadex online, it is recommended that you seek qualified medical advice as Nolvadex abuse (knowingly or unknowingly) could lead to side effects such as depression, dizziness, headache, and hot flashes.

Doping to be curb with biological passports

Anti-doping authorities of Britain will be issuing biological passports to athletes of the country for further deterring the use of use of banned substances before the London 2012 Olympics.

The passport scheme was announced by the UK Anti-Doping in collaboration with Britain’s only Wada-accredited laboratory at King’s College, London.

From Guardian.co.uk:

The passport programme began last month with an initial group of athletes. They will be tested periodically so their regular levels of substances such as testosterone can be recorded and used as a base-level against which future tests can be measured.

“The blood-profiling programme is a major step forward in the fight against doping in sport and provides us with another tool to support clean athletes,” the UK Anti-Doping chief executive, Andy Parkinson, said. “As doping and dopers become more sophisticated, we need to continue to improve and evolve our methods of detection to keep up.”

The laboratory is mostly used to dealing with urine samples and can detect any of the 60 or so substances on Wada’s banned list. Its efficiency and reliability is checked by the world body through the occasional submission of test samples without the laboratory’s knowledge.

All samples are sent by courier to the laboratory in tamperproof glass jars. Any attempt to open the jars without the laboratory’s dedicated clamp-like, hand-wound device shatters them.

Every stage of the sample’s journey, from collection to result, will be documented.

Testosterone Propionate – Professional Bodybuilding just get better

If you are about to make waves in the world of professional bodybuilding and looking for world’s most preferred testosterone derivative then Testosterone Propionate is an excellent choice for you.

Testosterone Propionate, the derivative of male sex hormone (testosterone), is known as Prop or Test Prop and considered superior to anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs such as Testosterone enanthate, Testosterone cypionate, and Sustanon since this drug is able to release quicker into the bloodstream than its counterparts.

Testosterone propionate is also effective in enhancing the level of performance and treating deficiency of naturally produced testosterone in the body. It is also effective in stimulating the process of nitrogen synthesis and improving muscle mass to a significant extent, within a short span of 6-8 weeks. It is equally effective for restricting the natural testosterone production and managing Hypothalamic Pituitary Testicular Axis (HPTA).

The propionate version of testosterone has an active life of approximately 2-3 days and an anabolic/androgenic ratio of 1:1 that means that it is as anabolic and androgenic. This anabolic steroid can be detected over a period of 2-3 weeks and generally stacked with Dianabol, Deca Durabolin, and Equipoise during a steroid. When used in weekly doses of 350-2000 mg by men and 50-100 mg by women, testosterone propionate facilitates protein synthesis and muscle definition. The recommended dose of testosterone propionate for beginner men is 400 mg/week and 20-50 mg/week for beginner women. The use of antiestrogens such as Clomid or Nolvadex for individuals may be deemed necessary if the body is prone to excess estrogen formation.

Tennis legend admits to use of steroids

Tennis legend John McEnroe has admitted to using steroids for six years.

The former Wimbledon champion and tennis legend made an admission about steroid use after a similar admission by Greg Rusedski in which Rusedski admitted to testing positive for nandrolone, the banned steroid.

From News.bbc.co.uk:

“I was being given a form of legal steroid they gave to horses until they decided it was too strong even for them,” said McEnroe.

“I’m not sure some of the strong, anti-inflammatory drugs are that far removed from illegal ones.”

McEnroe added: “People have to become more aware of what they are putting into their bodies.

McEnroe added that people are usually administering drugs too readily.

Anavar – World’s most preferred choice

Anavar (also known as Anvar and Oxandrolone) is rated very highly in the world of professional sports, anabolic steroids, and performance enhancing drugs when the expected results are all about enhancing performance, losing extra kilos, and improving body strength. Let us read more about this anabolic steroid to find its true class.

Anavar is an anabolic steroid, also described by many as an exceptional PED (performance enhancing drug), which can help in losing extra kilos under the belt without compromising on muscle mass and resulting in loss of body strength. Offering an active life of nearly 8-12 hours, the anabolic steroid is c17-alfa-alkylate in nature and believed to be relatively mild on the natural endocrine system when compared to other anabolic steroids.

Categorized as a Schedule III (non-narcotic) controlled substance under the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990, Anavar is second to none when it comes to enhancing body strength, stamina, muscle definition, and protein synthesis in as short as 6-8 weeks. The steroid is also recommended by medical practitioners, all over the world, for treating individuals afflicted with muscle wasting, osteoporosis-induced bone pain, and hypocalcaemia.

Anavar is not harsh on the body and this is evident from the fact that use of this drug doesn’t lead to occurrence of high blood pressure, water retention, gynecomastia, and acne even at high doses though such doses are not recommended at all.

When used in daily doses of 20-50 mg by men and 5-15 by women, Anavar demonstrates its true worth by helping its users deliver dramatic performances without fail. For steroid cycles, Anavar is commonly stacked with anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs such as Halotestin, Proviron, Trenbolone, Winstrol, Equipoise, and Primobolan.

Drops demonstrate efficacy for swimmer’s ear

A new research review has suggested that antibiotic or antiseptic drops are the best approach to treating swimmer’s ear. The involved reviewers suggested that it is not necessary to prescribe oral antibiotics along with ear drops to treat swimmer’s ear.

Medically known as acute otitis externa, swimmer’s ear is an inflammation of the ear canal that may or may not involve infection.

From in.reuters.com:

To investigate the best approach to treating the condition, Dr. Vivek Kaushik of the Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, UK, and colleagues looked at 19 randomized clinical trials including 3,382 patients in all. Treatments evaluated included astringent (drying), antiseptic, antibiotic, and steroid ear drops; various combinations of these topical treatments; oral antibiotics; and ear cleaning.

Overall, the researchers found, antibiotic or antiseptic drops, with or without steroids, produced a 55 percent to 100 percent cure rate for swimmer’s ear, compared to a 10 percent cure rate for inactive placebo drops.

Given that all of the topical treatments tested seemed to be equally effective, Kaushik and colleagues say, doctors may decide which therapy to use based on cost, risk of toxicity to the ear, and other concerns.

The findings appear in the most recent issue of The Cochrane Library, a publication of the Cochrane Collaboration.

Marion Jones has a new career option

The disgraced sprinter, Marion Jones, has signed for Tulsa Shock, Women’s National Basketball Association team, and hopes to launch a new career after losing five Olympic medals for using steroids and being jailed for lying to federal prosecutors.

The former sprinter spent six months in a federal prison for lying about steroids and her role in a check fraud.

From Guardian.co.uk:

Jones, who was awarded gold medals for winning the 100m, 200m and 4 x 400m relays at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and two bronzes in the long jump and 4×100m, admitted two years ago that she had taken steroids before, during and after the Games and was stripped of her five medals. She also spent about six months in a Texas federal prison for lying about doping and her role in a cheque fraud.

Jones said playing for the Shock is not about her past but instead fulfils her dream of playing basketball against some of the best players in the world.

“The word redemption is not in my vocabulary,” Jones said at a news conference, flanked by the team’s president, Steve Swetoha, and coach Nolan Richardson. “I’m a competitor, I want to play against the best in the world, and I know that I will be doing that.”

The association of Jones and steroids, highlighted by doping charges against her, is expected to affect Jones’ new career option in more than just a way but her fans are hoping she can finally get and stay out of all troubles.

Testosterone Cypionate promotes dramatic performance

If you are preparing for a professional sport event for long but think that you are under-prepared for it, it is time for you to read about Testosterone Cypionate.

Testosterone Cypionate, which is a derivative of testosterone, is one of the most respected names in the market of anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). This testosterone derivative is available in oral and injectable forms and is second to none for redefining the meanings of performance, stamina, body strength, agility, protein synthesis, and nitrogen retention. In addition to that, it is also useful in treating deficiency of testosterone, the male sex hormone, so that there are no issues with development of male sexual characteristics.

The chemical structure of Testosterone Cypionate is 4-androstene-3-one, 17beta-ol and its molecular weight is 132.1184 g/mol. This anabolic steroid has an active life of nearly 15-16 days and can be detected over a period of 3 months. The cypionate version of testosterone has an anabolic/androgenic ratio of 100:100, which means that it is an anabolic as androgenic.

When used by men in doses of 300-2000 mg/week for a maximum period of 6-8 weeks, this steroid promotes performance and body strength to significant extents. It is generally stacked with anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs such as Dianabol, Primobolan, Equipoise, and Clenbuterol. The use of antiestrogens such as Clomid, Arimidex, and Nolvadex is recommended if the formation of estrogens, during a steroid cycle, exceeds the normal. This steroid is not indicated to girls and women, especially pregnant and breastfeeding women, unless otherwise recommended specifically by a qualified medical practitioner.

Thomas Frei tested positive for EPO

Thomas Frei of Switzerland recently admitted to using the banned blood booster erythropoietin and thereafter parted ways with his team.

Frei, the 25-year old, was handed over a suspension by the BMC Racing Team after he tested positive for EPO.

From Guardian.co.uk:

BMC Racing Team president Jim Ochowicz said: “After Thomas Frei was officially informed by Anti-doping Switzerland that he was tested A-positive regarding the use of EPO, he confessed his doping violation to the team management.

“Thomas Frei acted on his own and confirmed that his failure was without any relation to the BMC Racing Team.

“This complies with the team’s own investigation on the case. The BMC Racing Team will now separate from Thomas Frei but thank the rider for his honesty to confess his failure.”

Earlier this month, BMC provisionally suspended the Italians Alessandro Ballan and Mauro Santambrogio for their involvement in a doping investigation in their own country while with the Lampre team.

The BMC riders include the Australian world champion Cadel Evans and American George Hincapie.
